2 Nephi 2:25

2 Nephi 2:25

Show answer

Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy. — 2 Nephi 2:25 is a seminary scripture mastery verse that beautifully summarizes the purpose of the Fall and of life itself. Two key words: 'be' (exist) and 'joy' (ultimate purpose). The Fall gave us life; Christ gives us joy.

A man and woman stand in a beautiful garden, innocent and pure. They face an impossible choice — stay in paradise forever, unchanging, without children or growth... or step into the unknown, knowing it will bring pain, hardship, and death. They choose the unknown. Banished from the garden, they enter a harsh world. But then something amazing happens — they call upon God, and He answers. An angel appears, teaches them about a coming Savior, and the woman cries out with JOY, grateful for what they've gained.

Moses 4:12; 5:4-11

Show answer

Adam and Eve choosing the Fall and discovering redemption — Adam and Eve's story is the ultimate example of stepping into difficulty by faith. They left paradise, faced a harsh world, but found something better — children, knowledge, redemption, and eternal life. Their 'Fall' was actually a rise.
