True or False: In Deuteronomy 6:5, Moses told the Israelites to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and might.

Deuteronomy 6:5

Show answer

True — True! This verse, known as the Shema, is one of the most important declarations in all of scripture. Jesus later quoted it as the 'first and great commandment' (Matthew 22:37-38). Loving God with ALL our heart, soul, and might means holding nothing back.

You've just received a huge blessing — a new home, a promotion, and financial security. Life is amazing! According to Deuteronomy 8, what should you do?

Deuteronomy 8:17-18

Show answer

Remember God gave you the power to succeed and thank Him humbly — Moses warned that prosperity is one of the greatest spiritual dangers. When things go well, it's easy to think we did it all ourselves. True gratitude means recognizing God's hand in every blessing — even when we worked hard for it.
